Caregivers and young children (infant-3) are welcome to stay in the sanctuary during worship or to listen to the service in our cheerful nursery located close to the sanctuary. (Caregivers must stay with their children in nursery as the church does not provide a caregiver.)
Children (4-8) attend the worship centre. The setting is tranquil and emulates a church sanctuary. A unique method of storytelling is used. Bible stories are told on felt underlays or in a desert box filled with sand. Wooden figures are used so that children can “see” as well as hear the stories. Children respond to the stories through art and personal reflection. Prayer is an important part of the program. Signing is used for many of our songs. Signing communicates meaning, portrays feelings and stirs emotion.
Older children (9+) are into the bible and enjoy the many activities associated with the “Whole People of God” curriculum which is lectionary-based.
